Music at Tresanton has been presenting innovative festival weekends featuring some of the top names in the classical music world since 2006, and have been broadcast frequently by BBC radio 3. It is a wonderful chance to combine the charm and comforts of Hotel Tresanton with top notch classical music performed in the uniquely intimate atmosphere of the St Mawes Methodist Chapel as well as enjoy informal contact with the musicians and a gala dinner on the Saturday night.
This year, four internationally renowned cellists who have all been to previous Music at Tresanton editions (Vashti Mimosa Hunter, Julian Arp, Alexander Chaushian and Adrian Brendel) will unite for a very special programme – the 5 Beethoven Cello Sonatas will run as a thread through the four concerts, each performed by a different cellist together with our Artistic Director Noam Greenberg, and each including one Beethoven sonata as a departure point for four adventurous, thrilling and distinctly different programmes built around it to reflect also on each individual cellist’s interests and personality.
